Jewish Women Make Predictions About Season 3 of ‘Nobody Wants This'
The Netflix show has been renewed for a third season and we have thoughts.
Warning: Spoilers ahead for “Nobody Wants This.”
If I had to pick one word to describe season two of “Nobody Wants This” — and that word couldn’t be “bad” — it would have to be: Unpredictable. Morgan getting engaged to her therapist, Lynn converting, Esther and Sasha breaking up, Noah and Joanne making little to no progress in their relationship… un-pre-dict-able.
So what’s next for The Hot Rabbi Show?
Just today, Netflix renewed “Nobody Wants This” for a season three. But Kristen Bell told Parade last week that the writers’ room has already been working on more episodes.
“Personally, I see a lot of comedy coming out of Joanne attempting to study to take the Jewish SATs for conversion. I’d love to have Joanne have to memorize some facts and crack open some books,” Kristen told USA Today. “I think that would be comedically entertaining for me to play at least.”
Meanwhile, Adam Brody says he wants the writers’ room to “Surprise him.”
As for us here at Jewish TV Club, we also have some thoughts. Read on for all our predictions for season three of “Nobody Wants This”:
Joanne starts the conversion process, and when she and Lynn finish they have a joint bat mitzvah
Esther tries dating on the apps, learns how horrible it is, and gets back together with Sasha
Morgan has a bisexual awakening (a la Samantha in SATC)
Morgan and Sasha hookup
Noah teaches Joanne how to leyn
Bina takes up art classes and really mellows out
Esther starts dressing like Diane Keaton in “Baby Boom” and starts working for the company that rivals Sasha and Ilan’s
A musical episode!! Maybe a production of “Fiddler on the Roof.”
Lynn and Bina form some kind of connection, and Lynn helps Bina see Joanne in a different light via a monologue about her newly learned Jewish wisdom
Joanne converts and throws some kind of frat party-esque pool party at the mikveh
Noah finally shaves his scruff
Esther watches the rest of “Handmaid’s Tale” and comments on an actor who is Sasha’s doppelganger
Rabbi Shira comes back and fixes all the inaccurate Judaism
There’s a really dramatic and funny Seder where Lynn dresses up as Elijah
There’s a Tu Bishvat flashback episode where Rabbi Noah gives a speech that does in fact have to do with grieving
Joanne gets really into Jewish superstition and starts wearing a hamsa and red string and spreading salt everywhere
Joanne gets really into Kabbalah
The finale ends with Noah and Joanne breaking up at a family function (maybe their own engagement party/wedding?), and then running to find each other and reconcile

If some of these predictions come true, maybe I WILL watch a third season! Send these ideas to the writers on the show - they're fantastic!
I especially love/hate the frat party mikvah! LOL
Totally off topic, but just read the article on Kveller about the Marlee Matlin bio/doc. I've already seen it and I actually cried through a lot of it. She doesn't shy away from much in her life. It was also wonderful to meet her interpreter. And Henry Winkler continues to be one of the great mentches around. Stick around after her doc for a surprise short film. Well worth the extra few minutes
